SQUAD SWAP: 437th AW Conducts Deployment Swap at Al Udeid Air Base

Capt. Abe Iyengar, a pilot assigned to the 16th Airlift Squadron, greets his girlfriend after returning from a deployment to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., Nov. 1, 2020. Airmen assigned to the 15th AS replaced Airmen assigned to the 16th AS, who were returning home after a 90-day deployment. Both squadrons fly and operate C-17 Globemaster IIIs assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing.

Army soldiers transport cargo for global transport

Members from the 1189th Transportation Brigade coordinated the movements of tanks that were being offloaded from the ship at Joint Base Charleston’s Naval Weapons Station, S.C., Oct 30, 2020. The 1189th TSB assisted the 841st Transportation Battalion in the offload of cargo supporting the transport of assets to Southwest Asia. The 841st TB facilitates the onward movement for all eastern seaboard cargo movements.

Team Charleston hosts Honorary Commanders Induction Ceremony

U.S. Air Force Col. Marc Greene, 628th Air Base Wing commander, familiarizes himself with civic leaders during the Honorary Commander Induction Ceremony, Sept. 17, 2020 at Joint base Charleston. Civic and base leaders came together for a brief socially-distanced event that introduced new honorary commanders to their respective Joint Base Charleston counterparts. The Honorary Commander’s Program provides leaders within the community an opportunity to learn more about the base’s mission including all tenant units. The program also allows service members to become more connected to their local community.
