437th Airlift Wing Celebrates 60 Years at Charleston

C-17 Globemaster III’s assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing fly over Charleston, South Carolina for a mass generation exercise, Jan. 5, 2023. This mission generation exercise kicks off Mobility Guardian 23 and involved the launch of 24 C-17s for the largest-ever show-of-force formation flight over Charleston Harbor. Airmen from the 437th Airlift Wing deployed to Saipan and Palau for Exercise Palmetto Reach as apart of Joint Base Charleston's Combat Readiness Exercise from Jan. 15-21. The training operations included; low-level sorties, air refueling, airdrops, community engagement events and moving equipment around Guam, Tinian, Rota, Saipan and Palau on strict time lines, showcasing Charleston’s ability to transport critical supplies with speed and flexibility.
