Charleston C-17 flies on "Dark Side of the Moon"
August 22, 2017 — An aircrew of Citizen Airmen from Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina had the opportunity Aug. 21 to fly a routine training mission under no so routine conditions – flying in the path of a total solar eclipse. More than 3,000 Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and international partners converged on the state of Washington in support of Mobility Guardian. The exercise is intended to test the abilities of the Mobility Air Forces to execute rapid global mobility missions in dynamic, contested environments.
