Top-performing Airmen selected for promotion to staff sergeant

Hurricane Tip of the Week

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Atlantic hurricane season begins June 1 and runs through Nov. 30. Since the Atlantic Hurricane Season officially opens June 1, Team Eglin members should gear up now for what is expected to be an above average hurricane season, according to a recent advisory issued by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Hurricane Center. The NHC is predicting the Atlantic hurricane season to have a 75 percent chance of being an "above average" season. (Courtesy graphic)
JB CHS holds memorial service for beloved Airman

They gathered together to celebrate the life of Staff Sgt. Joseph Villasenor and cherish the spot he filled while in their lives. 628 ABW command chief retires from service

Command Chief Master Sgt. Mike Ivey holds the American Flag close, following the flag presentation by Command Chief Master Sgt. Terrence Greene during Chief Ivey's official retirement ceremondy which was presided over by Col. John Wood at the Charleston Club Aug. 20, 2010. Chief Ivey will retire in November after 23 years of service to the United States Air Force. Chief Ivey began his career as an Airman Basic on April 22, 1987 and proceeded to go above and beyond the call of duty, achieving the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force. Col. Wood is the commander of the 437th Airlift Wing, Chief Greene is the command chief of the 437 AW and Chief Ivey will retire as the command chief of the 628th Air Base Wing. Charleston aerial port bridges gap to Afghanistan

The Ribbon Bridge is a modular, aluminum-alloy and continuous floating bridge system consisting of interior and ramp bays that are transported, launched and retrieved by a transporter or launcher vehicle. The hydraulics shop rebuilds damaged parts and tests their integrity before sending them back to be used in aircraft.
