Thirty-five technical sergeants were welcomed by friends and family into the senior noncommissioned officer tier during the Senior NCO Induction Ceremony Aug. 5 at the Charleston Club on Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Within this corps, Airmen transfer from craftsmen and supervisors to senior leadership and managerial positions. This ceremony is held annually to commemorate this milestone in an Airman's career. The meals are some of the 345,000 that have been delivered to Pakistani flood victims since July 31 to the area that?s been hard-hit by monsoon rains in recent days. Airmen with the West Virginia Air National Guard and 437th Aerial Port Squadron stand ready to load a C-5 Galaxy as a vehicle operator starts up a V-2000NG well drilling truck July 30, 2010, on Joint Base Charleston, S.C. The V-2000NG is manufactured by Laibe Corp who was contracted by the Army. The water drilling system is designed to drill wells as deep as 5,000 feet and will provide U.S. forces clean water at the source rather than trucking water to the base of operations. Current, former Airmen eligible for stop loss special pay

Current and former Airmen who were involuntarily held on active duty beyond an approved separation or retirement date as a result of stop-loss between Sept. 11, 2001, and Sept. 30, 2009, may be eligible for a retroactive stop-loss special pay compensation of $500 for each whole or partial month they were affected.
