Cleanup efforts continue outside JB Charleston

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Cleanup crews remove jet fuel from one of three sites along a drainage ditch outside Joint Base Charleston - Air Base July 18, 2014, following a leak on the flightline two nights before. A multi-pronged team comprised of base civil engineers and members of the Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Health and Environmental Control and Moran Environmental Recovery have been working together to control and remove the spilled fuel. McDew interacted with service members, families, Department of Defense civilian employees, contractors and local civic leaders in a variety of venues at JB Charleston during his three-day visit. Air Base Youth Programs brings joy of music, creativity to military children

The Joint Base Charleston - Air Base Youth Programs recently enhanced
the current natural playground area at the youth center with the addition of
interactive and musical equipment for the children. The musical additions to
the play area include a pebble harp, sound tubes, thunder drum and steel
drums. The other improvements to the play area include a collection table
area where the children can sort, count, rearrange, make patterns, dig and
mix materials, as well as a natural seating area and ropes obstacle course.
