Three Charleston Airmen receive STEP promotions

Master Sgt. Jason Broadus, left, Tech. Sgt. Brian Worley and Tech. Sgt. Humberto Camara, right, received promotions recently through the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program. The STEP program is a promotion recognition program used by commanders to recognize outstanding contributions and accomplishments. Sergeant Broadus, aerospace ground equipment craftsman with the 437th Maintenance Squadron, received his promotion Christmas Eve; Sergeant Worley, explosives ordnance disposal craftsman with the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron, was promoted Dec. 23; and Sergeant Camara, aviation resource manager with the 437th Operations Support Squadron, was promoted Jan. 6. The Airmen were officially promoted by Col. John Wood, 437th Airlift Wing commander, who was joined by Chief Master Sgt. Charleston continues to set the stage for Haiti

Staff Sgt. Whitney Armstrong chains down cargo on a C-17 in Toledo, Ohio, Jan. 30. The C-17 from McChord AFB, Wash., took off from Charleston AFB to pick up cargo in Ohio before departing to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Upon delivering the supplies, the aircraft returned to the United States and made a stop in Orlando, Fla.,to drop off six American evacuees before returning to Charleston AFB. Hotdogs and hamburgers are served to members of the 437th Aerial Port Squadron here during an free lunch Jan. 29. The lunch was hosted by Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 772 cadets with Charleston Southern University to support the squadron's Airmen as they continue their work for Haiti relief efforts.
