SAI and Liberty programs provide activities to Airmen and Sailors

Joint Base Charleston provides the Single Airman Initiative program which is directed toward serving single and unaccompanied military members. The SAI program was initiated in January based on feedback from the 2011 Caring For People forum, which provided Air Force members to express their opinions on quality of life issues via an online survey. The Single Airman Program is designed to focus on four core areas to include Wi-Fi, creating new programs, purchasing equipment and setting up life skills classes.

Joseph Wingo, 628th Communications Squadron commander, was the grand prize winner of the drawing for a 60” flat screen television Feb. 2, 2014, during the Charleston Club’s Super Bowl party at Joint Base Charleston – Air Base, S.C. Helping mom claim her prize and load it into the family van was 9-year old Sophia Wingo. The grand prize drawing was exclusively for Charleston Club members attending the party. “We’ve been members most of the time since he was a lieutenant,” said Wingo, referring to her husband.
