PAX Terminal to undergo renovations

The passenger terminal is being renovated to improve the facility by adding a new fire suppression system, roof, utility systems, restrooms inside the gated area and a redesigned family room. The passenger terminal will operate out of a temporary facility until construction is complete. New equipment could save AMC millions
January 4, 2017 — An operational evaluation of new synthetic tiedowns and winch cables for the C-17 Globemaster III took place here Nov. 28 and 29. Tiedowns are ropes, cords, straps or chains that secure items during airlift operations. A High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle was tied down with both the existing tiedowns and new synthetic tiedowns to conduct a side by side demonstration during an operational evaluation on Joint Base Charleston, Nov. 28 and 29. The evaluation was a culmination of an Air Force Research Labs, Advanced Power Technology Office, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, initiative to reduce aircraft weight by almost 1,000 pounds for better fuel efficiency.

Beginning Nov. 1, the influenza vaccine is available to all DoD beneficiaries. Additionally, the Air Base Exchange will offer a flu line on Nov. 19 from 1000 to 1300.
