Wing Leadership receives annual flu shots

Sarah Woods, right, 628th Medical Group (MDG) NCO in charge of the allergy and immunizations clinic, Oct. 21. The 628th MDG began offering the flu shot to active-duty service members, children from ages three to 17 and high-risk adults Oct. 17. Beginning Nov. 1, the influenza vaccine is available to all DoD beneficiaries. Additionally, the Air Base Exchange will offer a flu line on Nov. 19 from 1000 to 1300.

Navy celebrates 241st birthday

The event took place at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Charleston, South Carolina on Oct. 15. Navy tradition is to have the cake cut by the youngest and oldest Navy members present.

Team Charleston weathers the storm

Col. Jimmy Canlas, 437th Airlift Wing commander, marshals in the first C-17 Globemaster III returning to Joint Base Charleston on Oct. 11 after evacuating for Hurricane Matthew. Many of the aircraft continued to perform various world-wide missions from their evacuated locations.
