JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. –

Joint Base Charleston's efforts are helping aid the search and rescue of the A.R.A. San Juan, an Argentine navy submarine that went missing Nov. 15, 2017. As part of the support, two C-17 Globemaster IIIs and one C-5M Super Galaxy from Air Mobility Command are delivering needed equipment and expertise to assist a partner nation. The first flight from Joint Base Charleston is carrying a tow bar, a Tunner 60K Aircraft Cargo Loader and three members of the 437th Aerial Port Squadron. While on the ground, the team will be conducting runway assessments prior to other equipment arriving in country. Additional U.S. Air Force support will be provided to aid efforts.
