CAFB Pilot assists EMS
October 1, 2009 — An Airman with Charleston AFB helped rescue workers get to a victim of a car accident in N. Charleston Sept. 28. Capt. Kari Fleming a C-17 pilot with the 15th Airlift Squadron, was heading west on I-526 while driving to work when she was stopped on the Don Holt Bridge due to an accident in the eastbound lanes of the interstate. USTRANSCOM commander visits CAFB

Col. John Wood greets Gen. Duncan McNabb on the flightline here Sept. 29. General McNabb visited Charleston AFB for the U.S. Transportation Command's Component Commanders Conference. USTRANSCOM is one of ten combatant commands in the Department of Defense and serves as the main supporting command for the movement of personnel, equipment and supplies. The conference was held to address and communicate USTRANSOM priorities for present and future objectives. General McNabb is the U.S. Transportation Command commander and Colonel Wood is the 437th Airlift Wing commander.
