Senior Airman Derek Fisher is awarded the John Levitow award by Col. Martha Meeker and Chief Master Sgt.Jose LugoSantiago at the Airman Leadership School graduation March 24, 2011 on Joint Base Charleston, S.C. The Levitow award is the highest award presented to the Airman that displays the best overall performance evaluation, peer to staff rating and academic ranking. ALS is a six-week course designed to develop Airmen into effective leaders and supervisors. Airman Fisher is with the 437th Operational Support Squadron. Joint Base Charleston honored the new members of the JB CHS Advisory Council at their Induction Ceremony, March 18 in the Charleston Club. The Advisory Council is composed of former Honorary Commanders who served honorably in their posts and have been invited to continue their service at Joint Base Charleston. The Advisory Council’s mission is to advise current Honorary Commanders as well as support the U.S. military, Joint Base Charleston, the base’s mission and its people. Team Charleston bids farewell to Col. John Wood - 437 AW commander

Team Charleston brought home awards for best C-17 air refueling crew, best C-17 short field landing crew and best maintenance pre-flight team when they returned to Charleston AFB July 25 after participating in Rodeo 2009. Rodeo 2009 was held at McChord AFB, Wash., July 19 through 24 where more than 100 teams and 2.500 people from around the world were expected to participate. More than 70 awards were handed out during the competition's closing ceremony July 24.

JB CHS tests emergency response for upcoming expo
