Whitney Griffin, a Navy family member, took first place at the base-level AMC Icon competition. Eight Joint Base Charleston members competed in signing competition held at the Charleston Club, Aug. 20. AMC Icon is loosely based on American Idol where service members, Department of Defense civilians and family members ages 18 and older compete for cash prizes.
