Reservists deliver humanitarian aid to Guatemala
January 9, 2019 — Reservists from the 315th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston delivered nearly 8,000 pounds of humanitarian aid to Guatemala City Jan. 8, 2019. MX, CES Airmen perform first of its kind repair in AOR
December 31, 2018 — Airmen of the 8th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron teamed up Dec. 16-18, 2018, at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, to replace the pitch trim actuator on a C-17 Globemaster III from Joint Base Charleston, S.C... MORE

Airmen of the 8th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (EAMS) and 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron (ECES), work together using an alternative safe method to remove and replace a pitch trim actuator from the tail of a C-17 Globemaster III Dec. 16, 2018, at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. This is the first time a maintenance procedure like this has been done in U.S. Air Forces Central Command’s area of responsibility. November 28, 2018 — The skillful response and handling of an in-flight crisis by a 315th Airlift Wing crew leads to a national level award. On Aug. 17, 2018, an all Reserve Charleston-based C-17 crew, carrying medical evacuation patients, experienced a cabin pressure malfunction then, successfully completed their mission, despite poor weather conditions and emergency oxygen system malfunctions, earning the 2018 4th Air Force Aircrew Excellence Award... Reservists credit teamwork in lifesaving mission
November 8, 2018 — As if by fate, a weather delay in Germany allowed a group of reservists to embark on a challenging 22-and-a-half-hour mission to help save a fellow service member. On Nov. 3, 2018, a C-17 aircrew from the 315th Airlift Wing at Joint Base Charleston, S.C., who’s mission heading home from Germany was delayed due to severe weather, was asked to take on an emergency mission transporting a burn patient to Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas. ...
