NPTU awarded Meritorious Unit Commendation

Admiral Kirk Donald presents the Meritorious Unit Commendation to Capt. Dennis White during a ceremony at the Nuclear Power Training Unit at Joint Base Charleston - Weapons Station March 8. NPTU received the MUC for the period Sept. 1, 2008 to Dec.16, 2011. During that time, NPTU certified the majority of the nuclear operators reporting to the United Sates nuclear fleet and conducted three open ocean tows of the moored training ships and conducted planning and preparations for a site facilities expansion. Admiral Donald is the director of Naval Reactors and Captain White is the NPTU Charleston Commanding Officer. Enrichment retreats – good for the soul

Through the Chaplain’s Religious Enrichment Development Operation program, military members and their families are offered free enrichment retreats to help them reconnect. Charleston is scheduled to host a Marriage Enrichment Retreat at Camp Kinard in Batesburg-Leesville, S.C., April 13 to 15. The retreat offers a safe environment to help build better communication skills, trust and strengthen ties.
