Deployed JB Charleston Airman receives STEP promotion

Col. Corey Martin, 376th Air Expeditionary Wing commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Bryan Creager, 376th Air Expeditionary Wing command chief notified Tech Sgt. Darnell Walls, 376th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Assistant chief of operations, of his promotion to the rank of master sergeant at Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, Dec. 21, 2012. Wells received his promotion through the Stripes for Exceptional Performers program. Wells is currently deployed from Charleston Air Force Base, and is a native of Chicago, Ill. 628th CES firefighters practice emergency response drill at JB Charleston

Firefighters from the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron take part in a C-17 Globemaster III emergency response drill Dec. 19, 2012 at Joint Base Charleston - Air Base, S.C. During the C-17 Globemaster III drill, firefighters practiced for a real life situation, such as a plane crash with a fire, smoke and casualties. The drill takes place eight times a year. Heritage Ramblers spread holiday joy at JB Charleston

John Garcia, U.S. Air Force Heritage Ramblers Dixieland Ensemble’s trombone player, performs a solo in front of more than 150 Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command employees Dec. 13, 2012, at Joint Base Charleston – Weapons Station, S.C. Six members from the USAF Heritage Ramblers from Joint Base Langley – Eustis, Va., performed holiday carols at several commands on the Air Base and Weapons Station. The USAF Heritage Ramblers, a part of the Heritage of America Band, was formed in 2010. The group's mission is to preserve and present the rich heritage of traditional jazz. With the music of such legends as Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Jack Teagarden, and Bix Beiderbecke as their guide, Heritage Ramblers bring the New Orleans and Chicago styles of traditional jazz to life in each performance.
