USTRANSCOM commander visits JB Charleston
December 10, 2018 — Army Gen. Stephen Lyons, commander of U.S. Transportation Command, visits Joint Base Charleston, S.C., Dec. 6, 2018. Lyons visited JB Charleston as part of an effort to familiarize himself with the base’s global mobility capabilities. USTRANSCOM is a unified, functional combatant command that provides support to the nine other U.S. combatant commands, the military services, defense agencies and other government organizations. As commander, Lyons is responsible for delivering globally-integrated mobility, deployment and distribution solutions and enabling capabilities for full-spectrum requirements in support of national objectives.
