JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. —
The 628th Air Base Wing will host a change of command ceremony Sept. 5 at 8 a.m. at the Air Base.
Air Force Col. Terrence Adams will assume command from Col. Jeffrey Nelson officiated by Maj. Gen. John R. Gordy II, U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center commander.
The 628th Air Base Wing serves as the host unit of Joint Base Charleston, and is comprised of two operational groups and a wing staff directorate. The 628th ABW provides installation support to more than 60 DOD and federal agencies serving more than 90,000 Airmen, Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, Coast Guardsmen, civilians, dependents and retirees. It also provides expeditionary Airmen to combatant commanders in support of joint and combined operations.
