JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. —
Air Force, Army, Navy and Coast Guard personnel along with local military recruiters are scheduled to participate in a career day for regional Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets here on Oct. 11 from 10-11 a.m.
Over 250 Junior ROTC cadets from several regional high schools are scheduled to attend the career day.
"This career day will expose Junior ROTC cadets to a wide-range of military career fields and missions conducted here at JB Charleston to help them make decisions concerning their future careers," said James Bowman, 628th Air Base Wing, chief of community engagement.
The cadets will learn about various career fields and view equipment demonstrations provided by JB Charleston service members and local military recruiters.
The Junior ROTC is a Federal program sponsored by the United States Air Force in high schools and also in some middle schools across the United States and United States military bases across the world.
The purpose of Junior ROTC is to instill in students in secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.
