JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Concrete barriers sit atop the bed of a semi-truck as the 628th Civil Engineering Squadron exercises its skills across the base during Combat Readiness Exercise 2026 at Joint Base Charleston, Jan. 14, 2026. Under the surveillance of inspector generals and the Wing Inspection Team, exercises like the CRE enable personnel to identify key areas of improvement necessary to effectively operate Joint Base Charleston as the premier power projection platform.
