According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.  And that need has grown exponentially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The blood donated is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses and traumatic injuries. COVID-19 antibody testing was also conducted during the drive. The next JB Charleston Blood Drive is scheduled for Oct. 14, 2020.
