Mount Pleasant, S.C. - The B-25 “Furtle Turtle,” located on the hanger deck of the USS Yorktown at the Patriots Point Martime Museum in Mount Pleasant, S.C., sits supported by custom-built jack stands just before Airmen from the 437 Maintenance Group from Joint Base Charleston, S.C., reinstalled new wheels and tires. Members of JBC came to the aid of Patriots Point Maritime Museum in February 2019 when the tires on a B-25 at the museum needed replacement. They and other members of Joint Base Charleston volunteered their time and used their knowledge of C-17 Globemaster III tire maintenance to create a successful method of changing the tires on the World War II-era bomber.
