JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - Crewmembers from the USS Charleston (LKA-113), an amphibious Navy cargo ship commissioned in 1968, take pictures of members from the new USS Charleston (LCS-18) at the ship’s commissioning ceremony March 2, 2019, in Charleston, S.C. The USS Charleston—a Littoral Combat Ship intended for more shallow waters than typical Navy vessels—is the sixth naval ship named after the city.
