JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Brian Spears, 437th Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment lead trainer, reviews training requirements for members of his squadron Feb. 1, 2018. Spears trains his team as well as aircrew on proper wear of the gear; its limitations, such as effects of heat stress caused by wearing it; vision impairment and respiratory filtration. Spears was recognized as the Air Force Outstanding Aircrew Flight Equipment NCO for 2017.
