JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. - A student participating in Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape Block Training is pulled behind a boat while attempting to remove their parachute Oct. 2, 2017. The purpose of the exercise was to teach students how to remove their parachute after landing in water and being pulled by the wind. Each year 437th SERE specialists conduct Water Survival Training for 200 to 250 members deemed as high risk of isolation members from Charleston and the surrounding region.
