Hershey was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and spent approximately 170 days in a hospital. Despite her diagnosis Hershey kept up with her school work and finished her last treatment last month. Sandrea, her mother and her friend, were also able to meet 628th Security Forces Squadron Phoenix Raven members, observed a military working dog demonstration and test their piloting skills in a C-17 flight simulator.
