U.S. Navy Capt. Robert Hudson, Joint Base Charleston deputy commander and Naval Support Activity Charleston commander, congratulates SAPR volunteer victim advocates at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, April, 5, 2017. Volunteer victim advocates are required to take a 40-hour training certification course. Additionally the volunteers assist the two-person SAPRO team by being on-call to respond immediately to sexual assault victims.

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA - U.S. Navy Capt. Robert Hudson, Joint Base Charleston deputy commander and Naval Support Activity Charleston commander, presents Joint Base Charleston Volunteer Victim Advocates (VVA) with plaques to recognize them for their support to the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program during a ceremony in the 628th Air Base Wing Conference Room, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, April, 5, 2017. VVAs are required to complete the 40-hour Victim Advocate Training program prior to obtaining their required National Organization of Victim's Assistance (NOVA) Certification.
