A fire truck from the Joint Base Charleston Fire Department is displayed in front of the Navy Exchange Oct. 8, 2015, on JB Charleston – Weapons Station, S.C. Fire prevention week was Oct. 4 through Oct. 10, and the JB Charleston Fire Department hosted several events around the Air Base and Weapons Station. Fire prevention week was established in 1925 by President Calvin Coolidge when close to 15,000 American citizens died in fires the previous year.
