Members of the Armed Forces along with civilians sit in attendance during the USS Charleston ship-naming ceremony Jan. 9, 2015 at the Maritime Center in Charleston, S.C. The USS Charleston will be part of the Littoral Combat Ship fleet and is a fast, agile, focused-mission platform designed for operation in near-shore environments and is capable of open-ocean operations. It is designed to defeat asymmetric "anti-access" threats such as mines, quiet diesel submarines and fast surface craft. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech Sgt. Rasheen Douglas)
