U.S. Coastguardsmen from Joint Base Charleston interview George Nelson, U.S. Coastguard veteran, during the Day of Caring September 6, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Manor, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Approximately 2,500 service members from JB Charleston participated in the Day of Caring, volunteering their skills to assist with more than 50 projects in the local community. The base held their volunteer events a week earlier than Trident United Way's Day of Caring, due to events surrounding the delivery of the final U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III.
