Lt. Col. Patrick Miller, 628th Civil Engineer Squadron commander accepts a plaque from Christine Sanford- Coker, DHEC Area Director LowCountry Environmental Health Services, Charleston Office May 20, 2014, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. Joint Base Charleston was honored for its comprehensive recycling program that resulted in earning more than $268,000 from the sale of recyclable materials and a reduction in disposal costs of almost $7,000. In addition, the base has a green procurement policy that requires products and services meet high environmental standards regardless of procurement method or purchase value.
