U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Augie Nalsen reunites with wife, Christina, and daughter, Cali, at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., May 3, 2009. More than 140 Airmen from the 16th Airlift Squadron returned from their 120-day deployment to the Middle East supporting Operations Enduring and Iraqi freedom and operations in the Horn of Africa. While deployed, the 16 AS executed 142 airdrops, more than any of its predecessors, which resupplied service members serving in the regions with 3.7 million pounds of supplies. Tech. Sgt. Augie Nalsen, a pilot with the 16th Airlift Squadron, reunites with wife, Christina, and daughter, Cali, at Charleston AFB earlier this year after a 120-day deployment to the Middle East. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz and Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley have designated July 2009 to July 2010 as the "Year of the Air Force Family," a time to focus on Air Force programs highlighting the importance of, and commitment to, the entire Air Force family.
