CAFB C-17 delivers 30,000 H1N1 protection kits in 6 nations
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Marvin Richardson, front, Airman 1st Class Daniel Anderson, center, and Airman Rodrigo Maranon, back, push a pallet of personal protection kits onto a C-17 at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., May 8, 2009. Thirty thousand personal protection kits were shipped to Haiti, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, where health-care officials are responding to confirmed and suspected cases of H1N1 Influenza-A infections. U.S. Southern Command, headquartered in Miami, directed the mission after learning health officials submitted requests for assistance to U.S. embassies in their respective countries.
