U.S. Air Force Airman Rodrigo Maranon drives a 60K loader with pallets of personal protection kits at Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., May 8, 2009. Thirty thousand personal protection kits were shipped via C-17 to Haiti, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua, where health-care officials are responding to confirmed and suspected cases of H1N1 Influenza-A infections. U.S. Southern Command, headquartered in Miami, directed the mission after learning health officials submitted requests for assistance to U.S. embassies in their respective countries.
