Twenty C-17 Globemaster III's prepare to take-off, Dec. 21, 2006. Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., launched a record-breaking formation of C-17 aircraft; the largest formation of C-17's to take flight from a single base.  Aircrews consisting of active-duty Airmen from the 437th Airlift Wing and reservists from the 315th Airlift Wing participated in the mission, which included airdrops over North Auxiliary Airfield in Orangeburg, S.C., aerial refueling and low level tactical training.
