Pallets of bottled water sit on a McChord AFB C-17 after being loaded at Charleston AFB Jan. 18. Members of the 437th Aerial Port Squadron and 10th Airlift Squadron loadmasters worked together to load 16 pallets of food and water, which weighed approximately 116,000 pounds and included more than 40,000 bottles of water and 30,000 meals. The supplies were flown out of Charleston AFB at approximately 6:30 a.m. on the first mission to leave the base since it assumed the role of a distribution hub for food and water to Haiti.
