A McChord AFB C-17 awaits engine startup on the flightline at Charleston AFB Jan. 18. Since the recent earthquake which struck Haiti, active-duty and Reserve Airmen have worked around the clock in support of humanitarian aid missions to save lives and bring relief to earthquake victims. The McChord C-17 was flown out of Charleston AFB at approximately 6:30 a.m. on the first mission from Charleston since the base assumed the role of a distribution hub for food and water to Haiti.
