Col. Mike Speer winds up for the first pitch at the start of the Charleston RiverDogs baseball game at Joseph P. Riley Jr., Park May 13, 2010. Colonel Speer is retiring after a 26-year career with the Air Force, serving both as active duty and Reserve. The Charleston RiverDogs held a military appreciation night, which was free to all military and Department of Defense ID cardholders and their families. The Charleston RiverDogs beat the Augusta GreenJackets, 3-2. Colonel Speer is vice commander of the 315th Airlift Wing. See more pictures on Page 22.
