Airman 1st Class Rodrick Defreitas puts his headset on prior to refueling a C-17 Globemaster III at Joint Base Charleston - Air base, April 18. The C-17 can hold up to 35,546 gallons of fuel and can carry a maximum of 17,900 pounds and land on runways as short as 3,500 feet which is crucial to resupplying remote areas from the air or ground.
