Seventy two cadets from the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Area 06 spent a week at the Short Stay Naval Recreational Area, June 10 through 15, 2012, for a week of basic sailing and leadership instruction. Hosted by the West Ashley High School NJROTC and under the guidance of retired Master Chief Petty Officer Tim Strickland, West Ashley High School Naval Science instructor, the students earned a 100 percent success rate and completed all instructional requirements and earned their sailing certificates.
