CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Thank you Team Charleston for your outstanding efforts during this past operational readiness inspection!
Ultimately, the work that we do on a daily basis not only protects the United States of America and its global interests, but also helps to deliver freedom and hope to those in need. You have demonstrated that you are supremely capable of doing these things under severe, real-world conditions. What an exceptional effort ... I fully expect the Air Mobility Command Inspector General Team will recognize Team Charleston's camaraderie and dedication to fulfilling our mission. We can hold our heads very high with the quiet confidence that WE ARE READY to serve the nation!
Looking ahead to upcoming events, Tops in Blue will be performing at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center on Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. This event, entitled "Deja Blue," will be the 55th year that Tops in Blue has showcased their musical hits. If you have not attended this free performance in the past, I encourage you to do so this year. You will be entertained by the professional show these exceptionally talented Airmen put on. To learn more about the event, you can visit the 437th Force Support Squadron's web page at www.437services.com.
On Sept. 6, Team Charleston is celebrating the Air Force's 61st anniversary with our Air Force Ball at the Charleston Convention Center. This annual event is a time to reflect on our great Air Force history, to look toward the future of our force and to celebrate another year with our teammates. I encourage everyone to participate in what will be a memorable event. For more details on the Air Force Ball, see Page 6 of the Airlift Dispatch.
Another item to keep in mind is the Charleston Club's membership drive going on now through Oct. 15. Several members-only events are scheduled, including a picnic and an Oktoberfest featuring free food and beer tasting. The Charleston Club is an important part of our military community and I heartily recommend everyone become a member.
The Combined Federal Campaign kicks off next month running from Sept. 19 to Oct. 31. Your unit project officers will be contacting you shortly. When the time comes, please give generously to the charity of your choice and help Team Charleston meet or exceed our goal. The combined donations from Team Charleston have far-reaching effects. I would like to pass on my appreciation to Maj. Jason Engel, 437th Aerial Port Squadron, for volunteering to be the overall wing representative.
In closing, please join me in congratulating Team Charleston's newest colonel selects; all have PCS'd but made their grade here; Colonel selects Dan Hancock, PJ McAneny, Paul Eberhart and Corey Martin. Congrats also to Major selects Jon Ehrenfried and Carl Erickson.
Team Charleston - Take the Fight to the Enemy!
