CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. –
Team Charleston's preparation is peaking for our next opportunity to excel -- the Headquarters Air Mobility Command Aircrew Standardization and Evaluation Visit beginning May 4.
ASEV team members will evaluate the proficiency of our flying-crew force and examine the standardization/evaluation, tactics, training and aviation resource management programs for the wing.
The team will be comprised of approximately 25 evaluators and specialists from HQ AMC and other bases, administering aircrew evaluations and examining programs throughout the 437th and 315th Operations Groups.
Although the ASEV team arrives May 4, aircrew evaluations began Jan. 5, with examiners conducting "line checks" without advance warning on every type mission Charleston AFB has flown.
To date, AMC examiners have accomplished more than 250 aircrew evaluations on both active-duty and Reserve crew members. Special emphasis is placed on evaluations of our instructor force and standardization and evaluation members.
During their time at Charleston AFB, the inspectors will also administer a closed-book evaluation to all available crew members to test their knowledge of emergency procedures, aircraft systems and limitations and command instructions.
Squadron and operations group standardization/evaluation, training, tactics, aviation resource management offices and aircrew members have been working diligently to prepare for this inspection but it's not just an aircrew inspection. The attitude displayed by every member of Team Charleston is invaluable in setting the tone for the inspectors - first impressions count.
A short list of some of those organizations supporting the visit includes lodging, force support, transportation, aerial port, and maintenance. Every individual in these agencies may have the chance to come in contact with and influence impressions formed by inspectors.
With your help, we expect Team Charleston aircrews to excel and demonstrate no wing in AMC is more proficient or professional in the execution of worldwide mobility missions.
