JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. –
"The Length of Life, [...] is rather the push of a life forward to its personal ends and ambitions. The Breadth of Life is the outward concern for the welfare of others. The Height of Life is the upward reach toward God. These are the three dimensions of life, and without the development of all, no life becomes complete. Life at its best is a great triangle." (King, 43)
Last week I wrote about dreams in Lead and Inspire! ("I have a Dream! Or maybe I don't have one"), drawn from MLK's speech. This week, we start with the wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King, as he defines what a holistic approach to developing your life is all about.
This is "Comprehensive Fitness" the MLK way. At one point in the triangle portrayed above in the quote, you see the individual. On another point you see other people, and at the top you see the supreme being (the spiritual).
As you go on this week, ask yourself several questions and evaluate how much time you spend developing a holistic YOU. Discover your life and develop a plan you can follow to live a life that is complete.
This week, Share and BE GREAT!
Always motivated, Jose LugoSantiago
