JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. –
Each year the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum leads the way in commemorating, Holocaust Remembrance Day/Days of Remembrance. This year’s Holocaust Remembrance Day/Days of Remembrance observance will be celebrated April 23- 30, 2017. With the theme “Learning From the Holocaust: The Strength of the Human Spirit”, everyone is encouraged to take the time to remember the Holocaust victims, and the discrimination and hate they experienced.
Between the years of 1933 and 1945, the Nazi were responsible for the deaths of 6 million who identified as Jewish, and over 5 million others. Days of Remembrance illustrates the effects of prejudice and racism, as well as the importance of intervention at an early stage. If more individuals intervened in 1933, many lives could have been saved.
