Dorm 473 won the quarterly dorm competition and the Dorm 473 advisory council plans to use the money to benefit the dorm residents. McClure is assigned to the 628th Logistics Readiness Squadron and is the Dorm 473 council president. Frazier is assigned to the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron and is the Dorm 473 Airmen Dorm leader. Goodwill employed food service workers serve military members at the Rainbow Row Galley at Joint Base Charleston-Weapons Station, Jan. 26. More than 140 Goodwill employees, hired through the AbilityOne program, contribute to the overall success of the five-star rated dining facility by prepping, cooking, cleaning and serving food to service members. The AbilityOne program is a federal initiative that helps people who are blind or have other significant disabilities find employment by working within a national nonprofit agency which sells products and services to the U.S. government. Canines for Veterans named finalist in Joining Forces Community Challenge

Retired Army Capt. Leslie Smith sits with her service dog, Issac, during a ceremony at the Naval Consolidated Brig Charleston Dec. 1. During the ceremony, the NAVCON Brig, in partnership with Carolina Canines for Service, presented Marine Cpl. David Donchess, a wounded service member, his service dog Ruth. Smith lost her left leg and eye-sight after contracting a blood disorder while on duty in Bosnia in 2002 and now travels extensively on behalf of organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, Iraq Star Foundation, Army Wounded Warrior Program, Operation Heroes and Disabled Sports USA. CCFS is a non-profit health and human services organization that trains service dogs for people with disabilities. Through this program, military prisoners are taught to train service dogs for veterans with disabilities. Since the program's inception, 14 wounded service members have received service dogs.
