Strategic delay in processing TERA/VSP applications

By Joint Base Charleston Public Affairs

A strategic delay in the Temporary Early Retirement Application and Voluntary Separation Programs has recently been implemented. The following information may be beneficial for individuals with processing their TERA/VSP applications.

  • Processing of the first round of officer and enlisted TERA and VSP applications has been delayed while sustainment requirements for projected force reductions are further reviewed by the US Air Force. It is anticipated the continuation of processing applications for approval in the near future, however at this time a firm date has not yet been established. Once the Air Force leadership has completed the review, they will provide an updated message to the field and initiate the approval phases.
  • Active duty members may still apply for their respective voluntary force management programs.
