16th AS returns from deployment

Airmen from the 16th Airlift Squadron returned to Joint Base Charleston - Air Base, March 2, 2014, following a successful 60-day deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The Airmen conducted combat operations in support of OEF while deployed with the 816th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron.

Flying the C-17 Globemaster III, crews flew and supported more than 1,050 sorties, delivered more than 40 million pounds of cargo to include: 1,135 rolling stock, 2,397 pallets and more than 17,000 passengers.
