Petty Officer 1st Class Jason Black, a U.S. Navy engineman, and Petty Officer 2nd Class Miranda Marable, a U.S. Navy gunner’s mate, secure an M2HB Browning .50 caliber machine gun onboard a Coastal Riverine Squadron 10 Bravo Company patrol boat July 7, 2014, at Joint Base Charleston, S.C. CRS 10 is a Reserve unit home-based at JB Charleston and part of the Coastal Riverine Force which is comprised of three active-duty squadrons and four Reserve Squadrons. The units operate in harbors, rivers, bays, across the littorals and ashore. Their primary mission is to conduct maritime security operations across all phases of military operations by defending high value assets, critical maritime infrastructure, ports and harbors both inland and on coastal waterways against enemies, and when commanded, conduct offensive combat operations.
