JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. –
Palmetto Scholars Academy, a state charter school, is currently accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year. The school operates a grades 6 -12 curriculum for talented and gifted students, and is currently located on the old Navy base.
Under a new state law, 20 percent of enrollment in each class can be set aside for military children attached to Joint Base Charleston. This is a first in South Carolina, and is due to the legislative work of the PSA leadership and community. The school provides another educational choice for our families, complimenting existing public, private, virtual, and home school options.
Palmetto Scholars Academy has a consistent record of "Excellent" academic performance since opening its doors. The curriculum is geared toward high performing children, providing a differentiated program designed to meet the educational needs of intellectually gifted learners. Small class sizes provide ample opportunity for tutoring and personalized assistance during the year. State report cards can be viewed at:
